About Angie “Midwife of the True Self”
When I was seven years old, I was forced to leave Chile, my country of birth and start a new life in the UK with little more than a suitcase, fleeing from a dictatorship. I experienced deep trauma through multiple channels.
At the age of 18, I was invited to the warm power of a Native American sweat lodge ceremony, in the USA and I experienced a coming home to my connection to the land, my heart, soul and spirit. This defining moment was the start of my Shaman Medicine Woman journey. As an immigrant Chilean of both mixed Chilean and Indigenous heritage, this was an awakening.
This was the start of a profound rebirthing, as I went deeper into myself and my own healing and coming home to self, navigating loss and grief and transformation.
In my work, ceremony and wellbeing become one in the same, for individuals and the planet, we are all connected, inside and out as we claim True Self. An expression of what is most important to us and a moment in stillness to create and define our lives and honour defining moments is instrumental in anchoring an understanding of what life is.
Rites of Passage in midlife and beyond create profound opportunities to acknowledge how far we have come, let go of what we will no longer be held back by, and allow us to cross a threshold into a new beginning. YOu see, from Midlife onwards, we explore the opportunity for reinvention like never before, and a quest begins, to find the tools and the way to do this for ourselves.
From over 35 years walking this path, I can sincerely say that THIS is the most powerful conduit to hold and honour transformation I have ever had the honour to create and be part of.
I also found myself as a very young woman, being an interpreter to an Ecuadorian Shaman, then later as a Medicine Woman and mother starting to make my own Alchemical Elixirs, and now as an Elder holding deep transformational and life changing space for women with drumming, shamanic journey circles, Rites of Passage ceremonies, mentorships and ritual, helping others to own and claim their voice, truth and power.
For over two decades I worked with people in recovery, in the corporate world, in community, with families and burnt out creatives, and then specialised in women’s emotional and womb health, leading me to hold sacred space and wellbeing, and honour women’s paths through Rites of Passage, Trainings and Mentorships, the work I do today. I am grounded and believe in a straightforward honest non-bullshit approach. My own reinvention in peri menopause led me right to this place as Space Holder - from Therapist to Ceremonialist and as I have embraced my identity in full, I celebrate the courage of others and stand at the threshold to welcome them as a Guide. I know it takes letting go, and much bravery, I am here ready for you.
I have been blessed to be taught and formally trained in Shamanic Homeopathy, a blend of shamanic healing, herbal medicine and homeopathic medicine training, by Dr Yubaj Sharma and Dr Myriam Shivadikar with Anthroposophical principles, at The School of Shamanic Homeopathy, and Earth Based Ceremony by two wonderful Elders and wise women of ceremony, Glennie Kindred and Annie Keeling. I have been honoured with the support more recently by the phenomenal Lynne Franks and coach Katie Curtin.
I am an artist passionate about representing women, grounded spirituality, marginalised worlds, nature, feminism, self expression and shamanism.
Through my integrated grounded multifaceted approach, my Rites of Passage Immersions focus on helping people with themes of claiming true self, belonging, identity, healing, rebirth, claiming our joy and divinity, opening our hearts and souls to the land, and merging our inner and outer worlds finding true confidence and connection, and coming home. That’s where the joy is.
Alongside my Ceremonialist and Personal and Work Mentorship work, I work as a Holistic Consultant and Mentor for The Complementary Medical Association and The Homeopathy Action Trust, and lecture at The Southern College of Homeopathy . I am also involved in voluntary community projects.
As a proud immigrant and inclusive feminist, I feel passionate about you empowering you, your identity, representation, empathy, decolonisation, decolonising wellness, diversity and the merging with the divine feminine.
I believe strongly that we can’t be spiritual and honour the earth if we at the same time neglect or choose to ignore marginalised people within it, I celebrate and honour individuality and uniqueness. As a person of mixed and indigenous heritage, I truly celebrate our growing sense of belonging and relating to ourselves and the world through deep understanding of the past and the present, to create a future worth inheriting.
My Soul Art is therefore strongly focused on shamanism, soul and identity and is a conversation and expression of visibility and coming home to the root and heart of creation. I work to create commissions.
I love good coffee, drumming, chocolate, laughing, time with my two gorgeous boys, husband and close friends and community, embracing life on this planet, ritual, being barefoot, ceremony, my garden, the woods, and dancing to Gogol Bordello and Prince.
Join me in your very own journey of recognising the immense incredible soul that you are, I hold space and you claim True Self.
You Are The Medicine You Seek, your Rite of Passage awaits.
